Meet Heather

Highland Dance Mom

“Nicole is passionate about her students and dedicated to seeing them reach their potential. Her belief in them helps them believe in themselves and it’s amazing to see their confidence shine through. I am very grateful for the role she plays in my daughter’s life.”

COMPETITION

You’ll be training with my team of fully certified staff + I am a certified dancing judge on the Royal
Scottish Official Board of Highland Dance world wide panel! If competition is your end game,
we produce results.

PERFORMANCE

It starts with volunteer community shows, then recitals, which leads up to auditions for our professional performance group. We’re giving dancers the experience they need to perform around the world if that’s their goal.

EDUCATION

We’re a certified studio with the Scottish Dance Teachers Alliance, offering exam opportunities
to students to move up through the ranks in their dance education.

COMMUNITY

From studio socials to in class bonding activities, we bring dancers, teachers and families
together.

LEADERSHIP

I took my first professional teaching exam at age 16, and have put countless dancers through
the same leadership program. Can you say ‘best part time job ever’?

Meet Hazel

Highland Dance Mom

“Nicole is extremely knowledgeable in Highland dancing and strives for each dancer to be the best that they can be. Her classes are well orchestrated and she provides top notch instruction which helps her dancers feel confident getting up on stage in competitions.

Hi, I'm Nicole

Owner of Saorsa Studio

I can confidently say that joining Highland dance changed my life, and I believe it can do the same for you!

Before I joined Highland dance, I was so shy. As in… physically ill when my mom would drop me off somewhere. I tried countless activities: soccer, gymnastics… It didn’t stick for me.

I went from not speaking a single word to anyone, to making connections to last a lifetime in dance class, performing on stage, and even dancing solo at competitions in front of dozens of people watching.

Anyone who knew me in my younger and much more shy years can hardly believe some of the things I’ve done with Highland Dance. But dance gave me the confidence to pursue my goals!

It’s taken me across Canada to compete, to Scotland for the World Championships, to Belgium to perform with an international dance team, and allowed me to open a dance studio at age 18 to share my passion.

Now, I've helped HUNDREDS of dancers throughout the years reach their dreams!

We’ve had dancers:
  • Finish top 6 overall in the Canadian Championships
  • Receive top 6 placings in the World Championships
  • Win dozens of Provincial Championships
  • Perform in the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo
  • Receive top marks in their dancing exams
  • Win dance scholarships
  • Become certified teaching professionals at 16 years old
And so much more. This can be your dancer!

By enrolling in highland dance classes, your dancer will:

  • Gain confidence
  • Make lifelong connections
  • Get to train independently AND with a team – best of both worlds!
  • Learn valuable transferable life skills
  • Develop a strong work ethic

“After trying other studios, this is the first time our 2yo daughter has enjoyed a dance class. The atmosphere in the studio is welcoming and fun. She asks almost every morning if dance class is today!
