- We have an exciting session on injury prevention with the Wellness Zone coming up on May 26th!
- There is an extra recital rehearsal on May 5th, and a mandatory dress rehearsal on May 27th. Check your email for details!
- Recital tickets go on sale May 1st, 2024 at 12pm ADT. Access tickets here!
- Pre-order a single stem rose for your performer(s) when you get your tickets!
- Upcoming studio social: Little Mermaid Movie Night on May 26th! More details in your inbox.
- The complete Recital Package is now available for viewing in the Portal! Find all you need to know about everything from costumes, to practice videos, to tickets.
- We need volunteers for recital costume preparation and other small tasks! Every volunteer gets a free ticket to the show – contact Kate at hello@saorsastudio.ca to sign up.
- Commemorative recital merchandise is available for pre-order NOW in the Portal!
- Our end-of-year in-class photos are coming up May 28th – June 3rd!
April in Review
- We had many dancers compete in our local favourite Kate Gaddess Memorial Competition in April! We had dancers achieve some pretty incredible personal bests and award results. Additionally, lots of little dancers participating in the demonstration event, which allows competitive-hopeful dancers to get up on stage in front of a judge and get a taste for competition! Congratulations to all participants and competitors!🏆
- Our crazy hair theme week had our dancers getting super creative!
- Members of Shanachie Junior dance company competed in a non-highland dance competition, Mercy Dance Productions in Fredericton! These dancers all achieved impressive results in their individual dances, plus incredible overall results in their duet and group dances.
- A group of Saorsa Studio dancers traveled to Halifax to compete in the Celtica Highland Dance Competition! Premier and Pre-Premier dancers alike competed in multiple choreography events, including duet, trio, and group events. Our dancers took home lots of awards alongside some positive team bonding experience.

Looking Ahead
- We’ll be hosting a studio social this month to watch the Little Mermaid! Our movie nights are always a blast, and our dancers have been jamming out to Little Mermaid songs for weeks now. See you there, dancers!
- We will have new studio branded merchandise available for order in May! We’re so excited to share this design which we’ve had in the works for a few months now, and we know our dancers are going to love it. Keep an eye out for details on ordering👀
- Our dancers in Shanachie Dance Company’s Junior and Senior groups have begun work on their choreographed dances to be competed at the ScotDance Canada Championship Series in Kamloops, BC in July! This exciting event is always a highlight in our books. Just wait until you see what we’re working on!
- The East Pointers have been announced as the headlining band at the upcoming New Brunswick Highland Games which are hosted in Fredericton in July! If you’ve ever been in a dance class at Saorsa Studio, you’ve probably heard an East Pointers song used for the warm up. Needless to say we’re pretty pumped🤩
