Behind the Scenes of Saorsa Studio – June 2024
Welcome to the monthly Saorsa Studio Snapshot!
These monthly posts will give you some insight into what’s on the go at our studio – from competition and performance results, to our student of the month, to the new initiatives we always have on the go👀
Current dance families can find a more detailed version of this newsletter in their inbox.
Heads up! This is our final behind the scenes blog for the September 2023-June 2024 dance season! Registered dance families will continue to receive a monthly newsletter in their inbox, but our blogs will be on pause for the summer months.

- Do you want to watch the recital, but won’t be in town? You can purchase a virtual ticket (“Access to Video Recording”) on the Eventbrite page, and a link to the show will be shared with you afterward.
- PERFORMERS NEEDED for show on June 22nd! We’d love to see all ages and skill levels on the stage. Details in your inbox!
May at the Studio
May was a busy busy month!
- Our studio social for May was a movie night (a favourite for our dancers!) and we (of course) watched The Little Mermaid.
- All of our dancers have been working hard at the studio, at home, and at our additional rehearsals on their dances for the recital.
- Parent volunteers and friends of the studio helped out by creating some pretty incredible DIY costume pieces for our dancers to wear in the recital. PLUS volunteers created and donated some wonderful set pieces and props for the show – thank you for helping the vision come alive!
- Our classes had their year-end photos taken – stay tuned to our social media for some sneak peaks, and dance families will receive a free download link soon!

Looking Ahead
- Our studio is turning three years old in June! Time has really flown since we opened our doors and we can’t wait to celebrate this milestone with our dance fam. We’ll be hosting a studio birthday party open to our dancers and their loved ones AND we’re having a theme week at dance class – check your inbox for all the details!
- Our dancers in Shanachie Dance Company’s Junior and Senior groups will be working hard on their choreographed dances to be competed at the ScotDance Canada Championship Series in Kamloops, BC in July! We can’t wait to see them in action next month.
- Our dancers will be performing at the Fredericton Multicultural Festival this month! This event is close to our hearts, as we’ve been performing there since the early days of Nicole’s dance school pre-Saorsa. Reminder that we are looking for dancers to perform! Check your inbox for details.
- The Moncton Highland Games is this month! Good luck to our dancers competing, and be sure to stick around for the Shanachie Dance Company performance set on Saturday evening.
